Karins and Associates' History
Uldis Karins, a Latvian immigrant armed with a degree in civil engineering, started his career working in the public sector.
1973 - Uldis starts Karins and Associates providing civil engineering and survey services. The company's beginnings were on Concord Pike in Wilmington, Delaware.
1986 - The company moves to a business condominium on Kirkwood Highway in Wilmington, Delaware.
1993 - Mr. Karins retires and ownership of the firm is transitioned to three long time employees of the company ... Edward Politowski, Bruce Buker, and Michael Szymanski. 1996 - The firm moves into the building at Polly Drummond Center in Newark, Delaware, where the company is still headquartered.
1997 - Dev Sitaram, current president, becomes a partner.
2007 - John Johnson, current vice president, becomes a partner.
2010 - Ownership transition to current partners, Dev Sitaram and John Johnson, completed.
2012 - Laser Scanner purchased.
2013 - Karins acquires Temple-Sellers, Inc. in Seaford, Delaware.
- Uldis Karins attends Karins' 40th Anniversary party.
2014 - Seaford office moves to Georgetown, Delaware.
- Karins acquires Fair Hill Engineering, a civil engineering firm located in Elkton, Maryland.
2015 - Unmanned Surface Vessel purchased for hydrographic surveying.
2016 - Karins acquires Momenee & Associates and Momenee Survey Group, Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania-based firms. The entity is now "Momenee, Inc., A Karins Company."
2017 - Wins a spot on the "Inc. 5000 2017 Fastest-Growing Private Companies" List

2018 -Celebrates 45 Years in Business
